StarFlyer Health & Wellness Cruise to the Treasure Islands 2026
Posted on April 30th, 2026 & filed in Rejuvenation Vacations

The StarFlyer Health and Wellness Cruise started out on a rough note. On January 3-4, 2026, U.S. airlines cancelled hundreds of flights across the Eastern Caribbean following FAA airspace restrictions due to military operations in the region. The closures caused widespread disruption, particularly in Puerto Rico, Aruba, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. But thanks to having Alesia Kozicky of Dunwoodie Travel on hand, we were able to reschedule our flights and joined the Star Clipper cruise ship in St. Thomas on Monday, January 5. Talk about an adventure before the adventure even began!

So we jumped right into the spirit of things with Pirates Night, where we all dressed the part and danced the night away on deck! The Star Flyer is a true tall ship, and there is something magical about celebrating under the masts and rigging with the ocean stretching out in every direction.

The week continued with yoga every day on the ship and meditations on the beautiful beaches of the Eastern Caribbean. Our daily sessions on the wooden deck of the Star Flyer became the heartbeat of the trip, with the sunrise and sunset painting the sky as our backdrop. Cocktail hours were peppered with casual talks and wellness sessions that sparked incredible conversations among our group.

Daily Wellness at Sea
Each day of the cruise featured a focused health and wellness theme with experiential learning woven into the island-hopping itinerary.
We kicked off with Health & Wellness Trends for 2026, exploring the difference between healthspan and lifespan and introducing biohacks around light, sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, and mindset. We set our intentions for the week with a welcome wellness mocktail ritual.

The Importance of Sleep session dove into circadian rhythm, hormones, and light exposure, covering how poor sleep fuels inflammation, impairs immunity, and disrupts cognition. We wrapped the day with sleep-support tonics and a sunset and stargazing talk on deck.
Ethnonutrition & Blood Type Nutrition was one of the most eye-opening sessions. We explored why one diet does not fit all, looking at enzymes, ancestry, and food tolerance. Island diets were highlighted as metabolic adaptations, and we sampled blood-type-friendly tastings and digestive mocktails.
Our Blue Zones & the Power 9 day covered how the world’s longest-lived people thrive, from plant-forward eating and natural movement to purpose, stress reduction, and deep social connection. It was inspiring to see how these principles connected to everything we were experiencing on the cruise.
Sugar & Human Health opened our eyes to the effects of refined sugar on inflammation, joints, calcium balance, the microbiome, mood, and sleep. We compared traditional sweeteners with refined sugar and enjoyed low-sugar island drinks and natural sweet alternatives.
The week wrapped up with Mindful Indulgence & Longevity Integration, where we explored soberish strategies like zebra striping, low-ABV options, and hydration-first approaches. We enjoyed a wellness bar demo and a closing ritual, with each guest receiving a take-home longevity guide.

Yoga on the Star Flyer
The daily yoga sessions on the deck of the Star Flyer were unforgettable. There is nothing quite like flowing through poses with the ocean breeze and Caribbean sky surrounding you. Partner poses, group meditations, and tree pose under the ship’s mast became some of our most treasured moments of the trip.

Island Hopping Through the Treasure Islands
Our itinerary took us through some of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. From crystal-clear waters at White Bay, Jost Van Dyke, to snorkeling the caves of Norman Island in the British Virgin Islands, every stop offered something special.

We explored The Baths at Virgin Gorda, strolled the chic harbor of Gustavia in St. Barts, and soaked in the cultural and historical highlights of Basseterre, St. Kitts, with a relaxing afternoon at South Friars Bay.
Friends, Food, and Memories for Life

We ate great food, did yoga, meditated, danced, sang our hearts out, and made friends for life. The combination of wellness learning, island exploration, and the intimate setting of a tall ship created bonds that will last far beyond this voyage.
